Kosher Certified Products
The term "Kosher" comes from Hebrew and means "fit" or "appropriate." The Kosher certificate is a designation for products produced in accordance with Jewish beliefs.
According to Jewish dietary laws, permissible foods are categorized into three groups: meat, dairy, and pareve.
Meat products include items such as beef and chicken.Dairy products encompass items made from milk, like cream, cheese, and other dairy-based products.Pareve products include fruits, vegetables, legumes, eggs, and grains. Pareve foods can be combined with either meat or dairy items, but mixing meat and dairy is strictly prohibited.
To obtain a Kosher certificate, the entire production process, from the supply of raw materials to preparation and packaging, must be inspected and deemed compliant with production standards. These inspections are conducted by a rabbi or another certified kosher inspector.
For many Jewish consumers who rely on these certificates to ensure that their dietary requirements are met, the Kosher certificate is crucial. Similarly, for non-Jewish consumers who consider the Kosher certificate as a mark of quality or purity, it serves as an important guide.
At UBC Kimya, we offer many pareve products approved by the Orthodox Union (OU).
